After sharing with us his passion for gipsy music and Quebec’s own, SERGEÏ TROFANOV invites us to join in on his passion for movie music. Music  composed by masters (many Oscar winner’s among them) such as Francis Lai, Maurice Jarre, Michel Legrand, Alan Bergman, Marylin Bergman, Marvin Hamlish, Jacques Demy, Henry Mancini, Herman Hupfeld, Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota, Larry Kusik, Will Jennings and James Horner.  

Accompanied by Rumanian pianist Olivier Radu, Sergeï Trofanov embarks us in a fantastic and compelling tour going from America’s Far West (Once Upon A Time In The West) to New York (The Way We Were), Cherbourg (Les parapluies de Cherbourg), Paris (Les moulins de mon cœur), Casablanca (As Time Goes by) finishing with Great Russia’s magnificent steppes (Lara’s Theme from Doctor Zhivago)…

Thanks to the magical movements of his bow, Sergeï Trofanov adds to these very well known classic melodies his own personal and sensual touch and his slavic soul. Violinist of Djelem, which he helped co-found, Sergeï Trofanov also has five solo albums to his name: Gypsy Passion, Gypsy Passion 2 – Romance, Tout à la manière Tzigane, Around The World with the Mondo Rhapsody Orchestra and Quebec Passion.

Born in Moldavia from Russian descent, Sergeï Trofanov is known worldwide as a virtuoso violinist. His music from Russia, Rumania, Hungary and also Jewish, classic or popular and his gipsy compositions, sometimes accompanied by his soulful voice, have a sound or their own. His albums are distributed in many countries with much success.
